Sprint LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat OTA update is Out Now
The Sprint version of the LG G2 is
finally ready for a chocolaty treat, as the carrier has started to roll
out the Android 4.4 KitKat update.
The latest flavor of Android has been
slowly rolling out for the LG G2 in the U.S., and its journey is not
over yet. The update has already reached the AT&T and T-Mobile
versions of the handset, and now it seems that it's Sprint's turn to
deliver the goodies.

The LG G2 is the company's flagship
smartphone from 2013 and has plenty of neat specs and features that made
it worthy of the title. While the tech world is now buzzing in
anticipation of the next-generation LG G3, the G2 model still has plenty
to offer and has enjoyed great success.
In addition to its high-end specs and
features, the LG G2 also took the world by surprise by introducing a
unique concept design with its rear key layout. Basically, the rear key
concept found on the LG G2 moves to volume rocker and the power button
to the back of the handset, allowing users to hold and operate the
smartphone more comfortably with just one hand, despite the big display.
According to LG, this new layout also allows for a better grip, thus
reducing the number of accidental drops.
The LG G2 has been generally
well-received, and a software update to the latest version of Android is
only bound to make it more attractive. Sprint has announced
that it started to roll out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to its
version of the LG G2 on Monday, March 31, and it will roll out the
update in stages. As always with such updates, the process unfolds
gradually, which means that it may take a few days for the new software
version to reach all devices.
The Android 4.4 KitKat update for the
Sprint LG G2 will bring several improvements and new features, as well
as the usual cocktail of bug fixes. The update is rolling out over the
air (OTA), which means that all LG G2 owners on Sprint have to do is
follow the on-screen instructions once they receive the update
notification.
Those who can't wait any longer to
receive the update notification can always manually check whether the
update is ready to roll out to their device. To do so, access the
phone's Settings menu, select 'System Updates,' tap 'Update LG Software'
and hit 'Check Now.' If the update is available, you will be able to
get your device to the latest software version.
As Sprint itself points out, it's
advisable to make sure the device has at least 50 percent battery life
before starting the update process. As always in such cases, it's also
preferable to get the update via Wi-Fi, but make sure you have a stable
connection.
